Let’s Talk Compost... Loop are Launching! 

Introducing Loop:Frome, a brand new community composting and waste regeneration enterprise in Frome UK…

This initiative began on Edventure Frome’s 16th Start Up course, and is now ready for launch. Edventure:Frome runs an eleven week course in social entrepreneurship, bringing together a team of young adults to start-up a real community enterprise. This year, the students set out on a mission to find a solution to Frome’s food waste problem.

Working together with Peter Macfadyen and Frome Compost CIC, they have found a way for commercial food waste to be collected and re-cycled back into the land. They are closing the loop on the current linear system; but how exactly does it work? 

The Process 

Businesses in Frome can join Loop and receive a 25L food bin. On a weekly/bi-weekly basis, Loop will hop on a trike and head over to the businesses’ premises to collect the waste and take it to their composting hub, where it will be turned into a “delicious, biologically-alive, nutrient- & worm-rich compost.’’ This high quality compost will then be sold back into the Frome community, feeding the soil and completing the food waste loop. If you are a business in Frome and you want to be ‘In the loop’, now’s the time to jump onboard and become an Early Adopter.

Early Adopters Promotion

Anyone that signs up during the first month of Loop will receive a discount, a shout out, and a badge. You will benefit from discounted fees of their services for the first three months, and you’ll also be celebrated and promoted on their social media channels. Early Adopters will be given a badge to display at their premises to show that they are supports of a greener and sustainable Frome.
